AIRKinect Player Masking Demo

Happy new year everybody!

We’re finishing up a new release for AIRKinect, which will add coordinate translation to the OSX version, together with a new feature called “player masking”.

Player masking will enable you to extract the player’s RGB pixels. Think of it as a green-screen-without-green / background removal. There will be a new CameraFrameEvent type PLAYER_MASK, that will be dispatched when you enable player masking in the extension. This will give you a bitmap image, with the masked rgb pixels.

Check out the screencast below, to see a quick demo of this feature. We’re wrapping everything up right now, and will release this update on our github page very soon.

    There is a way to detect the kinect rgb camera as a camera object and use it to record a flv? or a way to attach to a video object tha BitmapData that your native application recognize? forgive me if the question are out of the topic

    I’ve achieved that by attaching the BitmapData to a bitmap object.
    It’s the same thing as using a video.

      yes is the same thing, but i need to record the video on the local hard disk.

    How long do you believe it will take until we will be able to use this library in Adobe Flash CS5.5? I frankly do not understand Flash Builder in its entirety and was wondering if this project allows for data to be sent at the same high speeds to AS3 in Flash as opposed to Flash Builder?

    Some insight and pointers into this would be much appreciated, thanks.

  6. Kinect has depth res 320×240 with player index, but we can make 640×480 and emulate player index with check points on the entrance of the box, it will improve the quality of the keying.

Esta genial, el problema es que no todos usamos la beta de flash builder 6, creo que aquí hay algunos que usamos flashdevelop ya que es libre y esta disponible, conseguir flash builder beta 6 ha sido un problema,pero eso no quita el buen trabajo que viene haciendo el equipo de airkinect al poner a disponibilidad esta librería tan bonita

  9. Hey guys, great work, I really appreciate it! I am starting to do some work with Kinect and combining it with the Information Visualization library Flare, in order to allow users to interact with visualizations for a wonderful experience.
